Danette L. Chavis - Founder of National Action Against Police Brutality & Murder
Danette L. Chavis, the mother of Gregory L. Chavis, is the founder of National Action Against Police Brutality and Murder, a grassroots organization created in response to the epidemic of police brutality and murder across the nation. She has a demand by petition with over "one million people '' who have joined it, who are seeking "police accountability" across the nation. In October of 2004 she lost own son Gregory at the hands of the NYPD and has marched and stood alongside many like herself seeking justice. She hopes to utilize her petition to galvanize a nationwide movement which shall challenge the constitution of the United States concerning its claims of Liberty and Justice for all.
